Travel

I was blessed to have traveled with my family growing up. We were encouraged to learn another language and embrace a culture through non-linguistic measures too – like art, cuisine, music, shared experiences, and other cultural aspects. Having spent years in the Air Force, my parents had friends all over the US and we visited or met up with them often. I continued my quest in college, spending each summer in a new environment – first Oregon, then France, and finally France & Italy. There’s something captivating about people and places – a universal beauty that transcends the intricacies of language and difficulties of cultural barriers.

Similarly, when Grant and I were newly-weds we decided that we’d like to travel abroad – just get out of the country – at least once a year. We even lived abroad in London for a year and Shanghai for a few months. We love road trips, visiting friends, going to shows, and other domestic adventures.

Places We’ve Been:

Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Austria, Lichtenstein, Switzerland, China, England, Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Iceland, Mexico, Portugal, Hungary, Bahamas, Greece, Thailand, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Panama
