Man boys

Have you encountered the phenomenon of the Man boys?

They are men by age but boys by action.

They are the 29-37 year-olds who still game, who still drink too much, who still party too hard – trying to relive or revive their college experience. They refuse to hold down a legitimate relationship and fill their days with reminiscing and looking backward not forward.

There is a specific breed that reside in Jackson Hole – an enlightening, tongue-in-cheek article about them can be found here.

It’s all fun and games and not of any real consequence, except that Andy’s recent message highlights this scripture:

“When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me”
– 1 Corinthians 13:11

He spoke about the importance of putting childish ways behind you, growing up, and taking on the responsibilities of manhood. It was a pretty powerful message. I’m eager to see what his next message highlights.

Do you know any Man boys? Are you dating one? I would advise waiting for the real thing, so if you marry, you’ll have hooked your wagon to a man, not a boy still indulging in the ways of childhood.

Lucille’s Mountain Top Inn

I have a fun new place to tell you about: Lucille’s Mountain Top Inn. I figured since it’s my birthday week and this B&B shares my name, I’d highlight it.

How dreamy is this locale?

you could be here

or here

{there are 10 rooms to choose from}

Nestled at the foot of the Appalatian Mountains, Lucille’s is just outside Helen:

and (of course) it has a spa…!

26 years and none the wiser

Today’s my 26th Birthday!

Here are the birth announcements that my Mama made by hand and sent out from our home in Alaska 26 years ago.

My daddy was an Air Force pilot flying A-10s (as pictured) and Mama was a teacher.

A lot has changed since then, but a lot has stayed the same: love, family, hope, joy, and faith.

Royal Wedding: Lords and Ladies

Hello all! I’m not as obsessed as some people about the Royal Wedding this Friday… but, ok, I am a little excited. This doesn’t happen every day; it’s making history!

Mama sent told me about you have to have a Lord/ Lady name to attend as Gentry, so here’s the formula:

Lord/ Lady
+ {a name of a grandparent}
+ {the name of your first pet}
+ hyphen
+ {the name of your first street address}

Mine could be one of the following:

Lady Lucille Lexi-Caplewood

Lady Mary Lexi-Caplewood

Stahler’s could be one of the following:

Lord Herman Sasha-Greenwyche

Lord William Ledbetter Sasha-Greenwyche

Mama’s would be:

Lady Beulah Fiddles-Madison

Pretty fun! What’s yours??
